I came to an interesting decision tonight. Sometime within the near future, I, jaron mortimer, will be enlisting in the United States Naval forces. I understand all of the repricussions that will occur, but I believe that, in the end, this will be a highly benificial move on my part

I think you should follow what Adam says. He'd never steer you wrong, and I don't think you realize what exactly you'd be getting into. If you feel the need find a secure job, there are lots of things out there. Do you really want to give up the next ten years (at least) of your life to something like that? What about kids? A marriage? I always thought you'd be the first one to travel that road, but something like joining the Navy could essentially ruin that for years. And if you feel the desire to "give back something," become a cop. Become personally involved in peoples lives. Be someone's hero. How often do you hear people talking about the soldiers in Iraq in a postive nature? Everyone's always complaining and the conversations eventually lead to something about Bush and whether they should be there in the first place. Would you really want to be risking your life for a country that doesn't even think you should try? For people that are calling the person in charge of you stupid and idiotic? Is that the type of life you'd want to

I'm not commited to anything yet, at least, not in a leagal sense. I really wish I could get just a BIT more support from you both, in the sense that you still keep calling it the WORST choice I can make, which I don't believe is true. In the meantime, though, I will talk to you both, face to face. Just please, please don't think I'm doing this blindly.
