I live in the middle of nowhere. Whenever there's a power outage here, i'm pretty sure Consumer's Electric takes bets on how long till someone calls to complain.
That's when they decide to start to take a look at it. So I know what it's like to have no power for several days...
Well, put it this way: Hurricanes have tornados in them.
A lower-level hurricane, like a level one, is not really as bad as a tornado, as the tornado has a higher chance to cause more severe damage. A high level hurricane like Charley, however, hits like a high level tornado, but over a much more wide-spread area. If you're in a safe area, a hurricane is generally easier to survive, but it also comes with an assload of flooding, power outages, water-contamination, and other fun things that can cause otherwise normal humans to become violently insane.
