sticky pad

I was trying to dance today, but my pad was so sticky that it kept coming with my feet when I moved them. I had to stop because of how much it was moving.  I tried cleaning it a couple of times with dawn, and that helps, but it still sticks after a few minutes of play.  Have other people had this problem?  How do you keep your pads clean?  Also, ( Read more... )

do you wear socks or bare feet? I always wear socks because my feet sweat and get sticky after 5 minutes.

nope, I've never slipped...well, maybe, but I don't think I've ever fallen. It really does help me though. However, if you went months without it getting sticky your feet must not sweat as much as mine.

If my dancepad gets sticky, I'll put on some really thin microfiber or nylon socks. I wouldn't recommend it if your feet aren't sweating because it does get slippery, but they keep sweaty feet form sticking pretty well without giving your feet heatstroke. :P

Ok I don't have ddr, but I was thinking you maybe could dust pad with talc or like goldbond body power.

Thats assuming the pad is sealed and the powder wouldn't get inside.

Kinda like talcing up when you play pool, keeps the cue from chaffing on hanging up on your fingers, so I wouldn't start with a dusted pad it might be slippery, but once it gets tacky the powder could smooth it back out.

Just a thought.

I was going to suggest the same thing, only cornstarch. Talc is bad for your lungs, it coats them and causes a blacklung-esque problem.

Try a different cleaner. Dawn is dish soap and as such works best when soaking things in water. A better choice is a mulit-purpose cleanser without bleach, the sort of thing you'd use on the kitchen counter. Spray, leave on for 30 seconds, and wipe off.
