And that sounds like a great plan. Also, I don't think there is anything wrong with getting your fruit from juices, as long as it is real fruit juice and not concentrate.
I like your style. ;) I have a very European approach to food: If it doesn't taste good, I'm sure has hell not going to eat it. Oh, and I'm a firm believer that broccoli is nothing more than a conveyor for cheese. :P
Oh, I wasn't trying to imply that other cultures and continents don't have good-tasting food! Sorry if that's how it came across.
I stole that bit from a comic from the late 1990's. . .damned if I can remember who she is now, though. :P Basically, its "insert any other flavorful food nation HERE" type of joke. It is in response to all those American food gurus from the 1980's who kept saying things like, "No, of course you can't put cheese on your broccoli/asparagus/salad! That defeats the whole purpose!" It is hard to pin down where the "you can't eat anything tasty and still lose weight" philosophy came from, but most folks agree that it is a very American idea.
Yeah, sorry, if it doesn't taste good, not eating it. Even if it means I'll be 250+ pounds FOREVER. Not gonna happen. :P
As to the sugar, we had been on a low-carb diet earlier in the year, but it was causing us acid reflux issues so we stopped doing it hard-core. However, a lot of the habits stayed with us.
Sugar substitute in our coffee. Low carb pasta from Dreamfields. (Strangely, we like it better than traditional pasta. *shrugs*) Lots of fiber. Drinking lots of liquids.
Now if we could just get the kitchen table cleared off and start eating a proper sit-down once a day. . .I found that we ate better and slower when we weren't in front of the TV.
i hate sugar substitute -.- i just use soy or go without it. for pasta, i go for whole-wheat and avoid bagels at work.
totally feeling you on the sit-down meal. cuz my boyfriend and i eat in front of the tv and i look over 10 minutes into dinner and it's like DAMN! already finished.

Lucky for us, everyone knows we've been working out more since about April, so ramping up my workout isn't totally unexpected. And yeah, while I was saying I didn't care about losing weight, I am. Not a whole lot, as I am more concerned about my arms and legs looking good, but you have to work on the whole package, you know?
