Waiting for his ride;

One day after his arrival at the internet community Dramadramaduck, Bruce Banner found himself waiting for the impossible: a god to transport him across worlds, where he'd receive help from someone he knew only as Nagato Yuki. Bruce had no idea how old Yuki was, but from what he'd been able to gather she was a logical, reliable individual that ( Read more... )

Completely alert, Bruce's eyes flicked from building to pedestrian, taking in the details of his new surroundings. They were almost disorienting in their simplicity; plain, clean lines demarked reality, everything almost sharp in its distinction. A different world... It was foreign and familiar all at once.

Once he'd regained his balance and his senses, Bruce took a deep breath, readjusting his internal sense of calm. A quick glance told him that his pulse remained steady - it hadn't dropped, but it hadn't raised either, and a sense of satisfaction filled him. He was improving, and steadily.

He nodded his gratitude to the god, then asked, "Do you know where she is? Nagato Yuki."

"I would assume that she is in class," Apollo tilted his head towards the school before them, making sure to take note of the time before looking back to Bruce. "Beyond that, I do not know. However, the students ought to be let out within the next quarter of an hour, you have a good chance of meeting her then."

He paused a beat, then said with a smile, "Contact me when you wish to return to your own world, Mr. Green. Do you have anymore questions?"

In class? How old, or rather how young, was she? Bruce firmly set that aside for now, and wished he knew at least conversational Japanese. As it was, his skills were limited to Portuguese, Spanish, and English, which he feared wouldn't help him much here. Yuki must speak English, though, if she'd been typing in it. Maybe the other students did here as well. He'd wait until class was let out, and try not to look creepy when he asked someone for directions.

"Just one," he said, and his stoic demeanor broke with his slight embarrassment. "How do I do that? Contact you, I mean. I know you're a..." He paused, unable to quite voice it. "Do I just say your name?"

"No, my power does not reach as far into this world as it does in ones like yours and mine -- however," Apollo waved a hand, summoning a pair of crows, who alighted on the lowermost branches of a perfect tree just to their left. "They will follow and watch over you. When you wish to return, just tell them -- they will relay the message to myself, and I will come back."

Unsure if that was weirder than just saying his name and having it be heard, Bruce nodded nonetheless. Silently he wondered if he could say a god's name in his home world and receive an answer.

Knowing that was a topic for another day, if any day at all, he said, "I'll do that. Thanks again," he added politely, glancing around to see if there were any clues as to Yuki's whereabouts.
