You know something that kinda bothered me in this fandom? The way most Americans seem to dismiss it as something "only popular with Mexicans" (yeah, thanks for erasing me and every other Brazilian who was a child during the mid nineties). TV Tropes is exceptionally bad with that.

It's definitely not what I see. ( Warning: rant. )

Oh gee, if only. I'd love to see more English speakers give this fandom a chance, but unfortunately now that the "peak" time has passed, it's harder to get them to go back and take a look at old school fandoms. I would have loved to see Saint Seiya meet the success that Dragonball did when I was a kid, but unfortunately it wasn't given the proper respect for that to happen. (And now Dragonball is still getting all the English speaking reverence to this day, through live action movies, even- looool)

I was hoping that The Lost Canvas would bring it a little more attention, being a new and pretty quality series (come on, guys), but it seems like most are still too distracted by their Gundams and Code Geass to even notice stuff like this. B(

tl;dr I think English speakers lack taste sometimes. But I also blame our culture for instilling the whole "cartoons are for kids" mindset that really limited and butchered the series brought to our audiences (and still does).

Idk about length... Kids these days have the energy to keep up with behemoths like One Piece and never get tired of it, so I'd guess it's more like taste. (I'd guess it's also taste that makes the Seiya section of DArt perpetually crowded with teenybopper Mary Sues.)

It kinda saddens me that we're so fragmented like that :/ Sometimes I think people in this fandom dislike each other on principle, whether it's because I like Lost Canvas better than Episode G or because I'd rather slash Gold Saints together than pair them with the Original Female Character du jour. I've been flamed because my fanart was too androgynous for their tastes (which made me pretty wary of sharing my stuff altogether, yeah), so I definitely get the feeling of alienation. :/ I geek around with my friends constantly, but I don't think I've found my... niche yet, you know?

Haha, I find myself in the same situation. I lack the patience to get into new series... or finish some long ones that I have started, for that matter. >_>;

And Pierrot did a great thing by making you post your stuff >3 Your art is great exactly because it's crazy awesome (but I'm biased, I love androgyny/guro/surrealism, and there's too much vanilla in this fandom), unlike their stuff which is just crazy "what the hell were you smoking to think it was even a remotely good idea to commission this travesty". (Yes, they commission stuff. When I discovered they spend money to see their sues bonking their favorite gold saints I went like ヽ(`Д´)ノ!!)

ಠ_ಠ I wonder how old these girls are... I mean, I was eleven when I went through that phase of "claiming bishounen" and creating Sues to interact with them. My consolation is that they'll regret so hard when that phase is over. Sad thing is that the older ones don't seem to create Sues; instead they get the closest available female character (usually Shaina -- poor girl's so bastardized) and ( ... )
