Exactly. We don't have the same options anymore. People don't stay places for 20 years anymore, and they can always find someone to do what you do for less. Raises have been eliminated by many companies citing the economic downturn since '08, regardless of if the company is struggling or reporting record profits. You are very lucky to have a 9-5 that works for you.
The crappy thing is the longer someone is un-employed the longer they are likely to stay that way. This economy sucks for most job fields.
And those of us who are employed are running around nervous that we could also be unemployed at any moment.
