The wedding of the decade (Sorry grucy but i wasn't invited so can't compare yours)

Well tis the morning after and i still have heaps of love in me from last night. The Wedding and Reception were both amazingly joyous affirmations of love, companionship, family and friends. My sole gripe of the occasion was the last line of every verse of joyous joyous. There was an extra note put in by the organist each time which threw everyone ( Read more... )

And here I thought I knew how "Ode To Joy" went.

Hearing everybody thrown off by the fourth line in the first verse confused me. When it happened again in the second verse sad_frog started laughing, and I found it difficult to keep a straight face.

In the third and fourth verse, I just paused at the beginning of the fourth line, and came in at the end. I didn't want to risk getting it wrong!

The pseudo-break-dancing at the reception was very impressive. Lots of guys gave it a go. You flexible younguns!

There was a lot of biting of lips in the bridal party as we all mumbled the last line each time

How do you think I felt? ;) Man, I remember when break dancing was current.

And maybe I'm getting old, but when I saw some of the moves that you and Tom were making, I decided that I'd probably just embarrass myself if I tried...

I'd embarass myself, embarass the audience, and do irreversible damage to joints.
