Something sparked off a memory i had of going to a number of comic conventions back in the day at centrepoint and i've decided i want to go again. The only one i could find was supanova so my questions to people are ( Read more... )

There's that mind body spirit one that comes up in Sydney every few months.

I went to Supanova 2 years ago. I'd like to go again. I collect little goth dolls when I go to those types of fairs. There's also a collectables fair that I like to go to in Parra town hall they have a heap of commic books as well and cards, but people don't dress up for that one. I have only seen them dress up for supanova.

Oooo i forgot about mind body and spirit. I did Capoeira there one year. Although i was kind of hoping for something a little more hokey.
So can i count you in for supanova :p? Also do you remember the name of the parramatta collectibles fair or when it's on?

Yeah I'm up for supanova. It's around Sept-Oct isn't it?

The collectables fair has a really original name. It freaks me out with how original the name is. You see they have called it "The collectables fair" Yeah I know you are impressed too. Link: http://collectables.zip.com.au/ Looks like there is one in 2 weeks time, or August is the one after.

Supanova is the only one I can think of at the moment. OzCon has been dead since the late 90s.

Supanova 2007 (Sydney) is on the 12th-14th of October at Sydney Olympic Park. That should be plenty of time to get a group of people organised if you want that (including costumes!).

Supanova Brisbane had some cool clix events, so naturally I'd be interested in going for that at least. Special guests would have to impress me. :P

I went to ozcon a couple of years in a row. I loved it and bought all the age of apocalypse comics one year. Brisbane is a fair hike for heroclix. Would you be interested in being one of those costumed individuals?

I'm certainly prepared to costume, at least in theory. I've worn plenty of weird stuff in public before - heck, I've worn drag - so that's not an issue.

Finding a superhero costume that I think looks good and that I can pull off is the only hurdle. I don't have huge muscles so something in black would be best!

Paul and Ruanne went last year and they seemed to have a good time. I was too much of a cheapskate to go.

But I can say that I'm on a costuming forum and it seems that a lot of people do dress up so I do agree that you should too :)
