Multi-billion dollar companies like that will always win because they have more money. I hope, at the very least, the people in charge will be prosecuted.

Thats not just defeatist, but outright untrue. Just off the top of my head check out the McLibel court case. Little voices in the community can win at court. It just takes the sort of effort that would drain your health.
