dear_mun Character Information
General
Canon Source: Bleach
Canon Format: Anime/Manga (Aside from having a lot of filler episodes, the anime is fairly true to the manga)
Character's Name: Nelliel Tu Odelschwanck (usually shortened to either Nel or Nelliel)
Character's Age: Nelliel’s age is never explicitly stated in any canon. Physically, she appears to be in her mid to late twenties, although she’s probably much older than that.
Conditional: If your character is 13 years of age or under, please clarify how they will be played. N/A
What form will your character's NV take? It will be green, and look like a cartoonish little starfish. It’s not so much that Nelliel has any links to stars or starfish, so much as I feel that a cutesy looking device touches on her more child-like traits. Her sword, gamuza, also has a green sheath, which is why I chose something green for her. The device is equipped with audio, video, and text functions, including a manual in its system that can be accessed for help. The technology itself is relatively simple to operate after reading through the manual.
Abilities
Character's Canon Abilities:
Sonido - Superhuman speed utilized by arrancar. It makes a static or booming sound.
Cero doble - One of Nelliel’s special moves. She’s able to temporarily absorb energy attacks and combine them with her own before firing it back out at an opponent. It looks as though Nelliel is eating the attack and spitting it back out when she uses this.
Superhuman strength - The upper limits of Nelliel’s strength is unknown, but she has been shown in canon punching an opponent bigger than herself several meters away and slicing through rock.
Hierro - Steel skin. Nelliel’s steel skin is strong/durable enough to be able to handle kicking a blade’s edge with her bare foot, or stopping a cero (powerful energy attack) with her bare hand.
Immense spiritual power - Nelliel is quite powerful and her power can be sensed from a distance by characters who can sense spirit power.
Resurrecion - Nelliel’s released state. Her spiritual power and strength increase in this form. She also has one attack that she can only use in this form called Lanzador Verde (Nelliel throws her lance at an opponent and it swirls, building up speed and power until it strikes the opponent. It acts something like a drill). This form, Gamuza, is released with the command “Declare”.
In addition to Nelliel’s immense spiritual power and all the abilities that come with it, Nelliel also possesses a high intellect (particularly when it comes to analyzing a person’s traits and combative style), and talent in swordsmanship and hand to hand combat.
Conditional: If your character has no superhuman canon abilities, what dormant ability will you give them? N/A
Weapons: Nelliel’s weapon varies based on whether she’s in her unreleased or her released form. In her unreleased form, she has a katana. In her released form, her weapon becomes a double-edged lance and she looks like a cross between a jousting knight and a female centaur
History/Personality/Plans/etc.
Character History:
http://bleach.wikia.com/wiki/Nelliel_Tu_OdelschwanckPoint in Canon: Episode 194 (with back story that appears in later episodes, since chronologically it comes before the start of the series)
Conditional: Brief summary of previous RP history: N/A
Character Personality: Nelliel is somewhat of a pacifist. In spite of her combative capabilities, she doesn’t enjoy fighting. She believes in mercy, and will use just as much force as she needs to in order to incapacitate her opponent and no more. Nelliel prefers not to take the lives of her opponents, and even considers killing a burden. She is not easily provoked into fighting, and will only fight when ordered, in self-defence, to protect someone, or to avenge a fallen comrade. Nelliel does not believe in fighting without a good reason, and cannot understand people who become intoxicated with adrenaline and bloodlust. She does not acknowledge people who fight without reason as warriors and goes as far as to call Nnoitra a beast and flat out inform him that she does not acknowledge him as a warrior.
Nelliel is a fun-loving person. She enjoys playing games and is open to new experiences. She’s quite affectionate with people she cares about. Nelliel treats her subordinates more like friends and companions than as people to be ordered around. This is unusual in her world, Hueco Mundo, which is a kill or be killed world where the strongest survive (in fact, hollows have to eat one another to grow stronger). This is shown in canon when she goes to find them when it’s lunch time, and initially thinks they are playing hide and go seek with her. She looks around a little for her until Nnoitra reveals where they are and that their masks have been ripped off on purpose. Furious, she decides she will make him pay for hurting people dear to her. These personality traits are also shown in her interactions with Ichigo, even when back in her adult form. She hugs him enthusiastically after believing she’s been successful in defeating Nnoitra in order to protect Ichigo. Although camaraderie isn’t unheard of, open displays of friendship and compassion are uncommon there. This isn’t a socialized and conditioned behaviour for Nelliel - it’s an inherent part of her personality and belief system.
Nelliel is an interesting cross between mature and child-like. She’s intelligent, honourable and logical, but can also be playful and somewhat naive. The people she trusts are the ones who are most likely to see her fun-loving, playful side. If she doesn’t trust someone, Nelliel will be polite, and maintain a deadpan calm expression. In spite of that politeness, she’s not afraid to be honest about what she thinks when prompted for her opinion.
Conditional: Personality development in previous game: N/A
Character Plans: Nelliel will be delighted to see her fraccion, Pesche. She’ll be less pleased to see Nnoitra considering their past history together and considering she’s being pulled from the middle of a fight with him. Nelliel will likely defer to Aizen unless given a very good reason not to, although she may not necessarily opt to stay where the other Espada are. Due to her disinterest in fighting, she will probably spend more of her time trying out fun new activities and reading. She may enrol in the university.
Appearance/PB: Nelliel is a somewhat tall woman, at 5’9”. She’s got long turquoise-green hair that reaches down to her waist. Her complexion is fair but not pale, and she has a magenta marking on her face that stretches across both cheeks and the bridge of her nose. Nelliel’s eyes are a pale greyish brown - appearing beige. Her hollow mask sits on her head, and looks like the skull of a ram. Nelliel is rather curvy, and is well endowed to the point that it’s impressive that her chest doesn’t hinder her movements. Her body language and facial expressions alternate between calm and dignified or energetic and child-like.

First Person Sample [Accidental video]
[Nelliel’s never used anything like her NV before, although most of its functions seem fairly intuitive to her. She’s just poking around and getting used to the little green device that seems to have been personalized, and doesn’t seem to have realized just yet that the device is recording, if her cheerful smile and fawning over the NV’s cuteness is any indication.]
It’s so cute~! [There’s a small giggle, and then she pauses, looking mildly confused] Hm? It’s doing something?
[Then it clicks that the device is recording, and her expression turns somewhat more serious]
Hello. If anyone has information on how to leave this place, I would appreciate it. Contrary to what some of the people I’ve encountered might think, I’m not here to hurt anyone. I just want to get back to where I’m supposed to be.
[She contemplates mentioning that there’s someone she needs to get back to right away, then remembers some of the graffiti she saw earlier]
Thank you in advance for any help you can offer.
Third Person Sample
Nelliel prepared to release resurrecion. She didn’t want to do it so soon after returning to her true form. She knew her body was releasing more reiatsu than she could handle. But Ichigo was depending on her. Ichigo, who had protected her without question, even though she was clearly an arrancar. Ichigo, who hadn’t doubted her even when Nnoitra revealed she was really an Espada. He’d accepted her and treated her as a friend. She would return the favour and protect him.
“Declare---” she began to say, when something abruptly went very wrong. It was worse than overwhelmingly powerful reiatsu. It was something she had never experienced before. She felt like her body was being pushed down, then enveloped, and then pulled violently upward. Even with the power she possessed, there was nothing she could do. When the terrible sensation subsided, Nelliel found herself in what...looked like some version of the human world. She couldn’t be certain, but what was clear was that she was nowhere near Las Noches at this point.
She shook her head. It hurt and it was spinning, although it wasn’t due to the crack in her mask. She was just disoriented, and needed to get her bearings to figure out what just happened here. This was...the human world? That’s what it looked like to her. As her vision came into focus, Nelliel noticed some graffiti on walls. It wasn’t very encouraging, to say the least. Still, she didn’t have to worry. Only humans with adequate spirit power could see arrancar. It was unlikely anyone would see her.
Or so she thought until she began walking along in search of answers and encountered an elderly woman making a little ‘tsk’ noise while looking disapprovingly at Nelliel’s rather skimpy and ragged outfit, and her sword.
“Excuse me, but I was wondering if--” Nelliel began, approaching the elderly woman. Much to her surprise, the woman created a shield and seemed to be giving off more spirit energy than Nelliel had expected.
“Don’t give me that innocent act!” snapped the woman. “I don’t know whether you’re with SERO or Afterglow, Inc., but I don’t trust you. Some of us just want to live in peace, you know!”
“Ah, I’m not..nevermind,” said Nelliel, looking at the woman’s suspicious expression. “Sorry to bother you.”
