They didn't offer their #1 salesperson any kind of severance pay, didn't give any notice, just shut everything down? GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
{MASSIVE HUGGLES} You will find another job that will be better paying. You are that awesome, and businesses should consider themselves blessed to have you working for them! Yes I'm biased - but it's the truth. You are the definition of awesome!! {MASSIVE HUGGLES HUGGLES HUGGLES}
No, I do get my vacation pay for severance, and the office doesn't actually close until the 18th, so I do have a bit of time and $. But it was still a shock. And knowing that there's nothing I could have done differently to keep the job - I mean, I really did the very best I could - I don't know whether that makes me feel better or worse, in the end.
However: it is clear the universe is telling me something. I am going to assume it's that I need to move ahead and stop being complacent.
I did get some lovely friends out of the experience, too. So it's all good.
{MASSIVE HUGGLES} Whatever you end up doing, you will be AWESOME, because you simply are that, AWESOME. {HUGGLES}
And I wished you a late Happy Birthday over on Yahoo, now I'll do it again here. BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!!! May all your days be filled with caramel, sprinkles, chocolate, strawberries, whipped cream, and elves!!!!!!!!!! :) :) :) :)
I'll check in if I can. I'm okay; feeling less of a failure than I did yesterday. Which is not to say that I thought it was anything I did or didn't do - it was more that I just felt useless after trying so hard to do well.
But clearly I *did* do well, and some things just happen. Some of them suck, and some of them are wonderful.
Like my friendship with you, for example. *snuggles*
*glomps* I am too, but I think it's a karmic kick in the butt, so I expect things will work out in the end. In some ways I think it was harder for my boss than for me (we are close friends outside of work, and I could tell she was hurting). She had to lay off *everyone*, which = blergh.

#1 salesperson in the nation = HEY LET'S CLOSE HER STORE.
I do not understand this logic. OH, WAIT - corporate. Never mind. Morons.
*hugs* I'm so sorry to hear that. You so deserve better.
