I don't think I've spent this much time outside any spring/summer before ever. Trekking all over Jackdawtown and surroundings, having coffee from a thermos sitting on tree trunks and rocks. Spending lots of time with my mom, who in no way acts like someone who's 71, getting a natural tan, and feeling the peace and harmony gathering in my soul. ( Read more... )

Pretty music... and sounds like a gorgeous place!

For a second there I thought maybe someone took a little home youtube video of YOU singing there by the water ;)

I'm trying to think about what a "jetty" is... like a little floating wooden pier perhaps?

Yes, exactly. Those little wooden piers are all over the numerous lakes, they're such a typically Swedish thing. Most of them are open to the public, not private like this one. I've had some trouble determining the right English word for them. I concluded that maybe they're not all that common in the Anglo-Saxon world, I dunno. :)

better late than never, right....? *she hopes*

I think we just call those things piers. Proper English may have a nicer word, but we Americans just call it a pier, be it right or wrong.

I never knew Sweden is so full of little lakes like that. I guess it makes sense that the US states of Minnesota and Wisconsin have such a concentration of folks of Scandinavian descent. There's nothing but lakes and "jettys" up there!

I hope I get to see your beautiful land someday.
:)
