When I say I'm a hedge witch, I mean that as a statement about my beliefs and world view, but I've come to realize that's not what people hear. They think of it as some sort of office, like being a priest or shaman, something that I DO. Whereas to me, it's something that I AM. It's about what I believe

I totally understand. It is so hard to talk to people about religion because of some need most have to try and convert you or to tell you exactly why your views are wrong, instead of just having mutual exchange of beliefs to learn about one another.

Yes, exactly. And if I'm brutally honest with myself, I did the same thing when I was younger. Found it hard to accept that others could believe in anything so patently wrong, as I thought (I was a complete non-believer then). I can only say I'm sorry I was so immature and I'm glad I've grown up a bit since then. :)
