This is a real tree-hugging-bleeding-heart-liberal-comment, but: if someone in the Pentagon, or a future official like Dick Cheney ever does decide that we need to go to war with China, I wonder if they'll take a look at pictures of the land like these...

Could probably be said of every war, ever.

Oh, certainly. For example, most Americans probably have no idea how many ruins, artifacts, and other remnants of ancient mesopotamian history are in Iraq. And nobody's going to see them either, because it's a war zone.
