The Departed

This movie, based on the Hong Kong flick 無間道, (translated as Infernal Affairs, but the Chinese title actually refers to the lowest level of Buddhist hell), definitely does justice to the original. Would it really be a Scorsese movie without an extended ending?

Right... well, embarassingly enough, I haven't seen Goodfellas, but I've seen three or four other Scorsese films, and they all have really drawn-out endings. Scorsese definitely likes closure.

I'm watching Goodfellas as we speak (seriously), and the ending has been going on for about an hour and a half.

they're both dating the same woman? hm, i suppose that adds a bit of twist. i wonder if there'll be sequel and prequel for this one too?

Yeah, have you seen Infernal Affairs? I saw it like a year ago, so I'm not sure, but I think Andy Lau and Tony Leung both end up the psychiatrist, played by Kelly Chen (who I think is really ugly, by the way, and that's a funny coincidence, because I think the girl who plays the psychiatrist in The Departed is also kind of ugly, haha).

yeah, i think andy lau didn't go see kelly chen until infernal affairs III tho. but i'm not too sure on the exact plot either.

I left out a verb in that last comment, I think that would be "both end up seeing the psychiatrist..."
