I'm feeling extremely restless these days. I start fall classes in a week and begin my teacher assisting/student teaching adventure shortly after that. I am fairly apprehensive of my classes, though. There were many classes in my grad program that I didn't necessarily enjoy or gain reams of insight from. Some parts of it were more or less busy-work because of some of the strengths of my undergrad educations. It also took me quite some time to find my place in that mix of generally ultra-liberal peers, many of whom were very hostile to Christianity and deeply engaged in perspectives and activities that I found problemmatic. Looking back though, the classroom experiences I didn't value much don't matter much a year and a half after I finished the program. When I think about school, the bright spots stand out and an MSW is an MSW once you're working anyway... the whole is greater than the sum of the parts, and what you do with it matters more than when you did when earning it. Or something like that :)
