Vacations are not for coming home rested and dreamy. You should skid into the driveway disheveled, exhausted, full of good food, broke, exclaiming, "Man, what a ride!" There are cheaper yet still nice places to stay. I am totally addicted to that inn, though

I love your definition of a good vacation! In the pre-Mastercard/Visa days, Pat and I returned home from many vacations eating at all of the Stuckey's using the Texaco Oil credit card because, between us, we didn't have enough cash for the price of a hot dog. But, we had great times!
