Singing Him Out

Lisa had a great idea. We met at Dad's bedside at 6:30, hymnals in hand. I brought Nathaniel. Jax, Lisa, me, then Jeff came to add a base note to our packsong. We sang Christmas hymns, we sang solid standards, we sang songs of comfort and hope in Christ. He turned his head slightly toward us. At "Silent Night" his eyes opened briefly. What a wonderful idea! I wish I had arranged that for my mother at the end. Ohh, she would have LOVED it. Her favorite hymn was "God Be With You...", and it was the last hymn sung at her funeral. It now has very special meaning to me, and I love it. I am sorry that you have to go through this; I know how much it hurts. *Hugs*

(((HUGS))) We did this for my Grandpa in his last moments. Some of the most bittersweet moments of my life. <3
