Yesterday I tried to visit a sick friend who was out playing, so I ended up at my sister's house. She said she didn't have anything more for the dump, but since I was there . . . We filled the truck halfway with stuff from her house and the rest of the way with stuff from mine and took the leisurely drive on part of the legacy highway to the dump. ( Read more... )

We went voting today. I feel like this was the first time since 1980 that I actually have a say in who is to be president, but once again, my voice is limited. The republicans would not allow one to vote unless one affiliated. I have issues with that. At ten o'clock on Sunday night I got a text message from a former student: "Everybody wear church clothes tomorrow out of respect for president Hinckley." On Monday, more than two-thirds of the student body was spit-shined and spiffy. And nobody said a word about why.
