[One of the settings randomly appearing in Luceti's outskirts is a marsh. Lovely swamp and a mucky mix of long grass and water that's probably soaking through whatever footwear you were wearing. There's a very ungainly-seeming chocobo, about 5'10", that is hopping from one claw to the other on a higher and drier piece of land. It seems skittish ( Read more... )

[ -- That sounds like...! ]

Aerith?! [ There's the clear sound of scrambling, papers being crinkled, and so forth. ] There's an experiment going on-- where are you?

[There's a chirp of relief--Light's on the journal, she's not all alone! This is a big relief.

Except she's not really sure where she is. But if she's not on Gaia, then there's no big nasty snake to worry about, right?] That's a good question... I'm in a marsh. I didn't think we had any of that in the enclosure, so I'm really confused. ...And let me guess, we're having one of those "everyone changes into weird things" experiments again.

Huh? [ Even with just voice it's apparent that gives Lightning pause out of whatever she's doing (getting ready to go out and find her friend again, of course); there's several beats, and then her voice is at once quite a bit lower. ] No, it's like the battle dome's gone crazy- the whole town's been turning into different scenarios, complete with enemies.

[ And then she goes silent. She knows that people who come back from being kidnapped often come back with unrelated effects, so... yeah. Great. ]

... What have you 'changed' into?

Complete with... u,um. I'm a chocobo, but I think there's bigger problems...!

[And with that, Aerith snatches up the journal with her beak, which... causes it to flip through the different modes thanks to accidental pressing. Enjoy a bouncing view of the marsh!]

[Well. It's not Aerith in the water. The yellow chocobo is walking along, not so much physically tired as simply discouraged of trudging through swampy water, when she sees Dhaos and starts drifting over to him...

...Only to see a dark sillhouette. And she knows that movement, which gets a startled, shrill wark out of her because she calls out to Dhaos:]

Look out, there's a monster!

[Before she opens her wings and starts sprinting toward him.]

It's in the water!

[--NOW IT'S NOT. Head emerging, it rises up to the shallow waters by Dhaos, coiling back to strike just as Aerith reaches Dhaos, quickly crouching.]

Hurry, get on!

[Moro's realized that these new environments aren't here to stay, but... they are still fascinating to explore. It's not often that she sees swamps as she's native to the mountains, but she's traveled through them before, and thus her interest in the murky waters is quickly replaced by the interest in the strange fowl nearby. She stalks from the forest, unsure whether to attack or just simply watch.]

[Action] NOT EVEN IF AERITH LOOKS VERY TASTY? gardenerofgaia August 2 2011, 19:35:09 UTC
[The forest is a change from the marsh she's been hopelessly mucking through, and she walks along the treeline curiously, trying to see if there's any sign of the village or even one of the lakes or rivers--at least then she'd know how to get back.

...She does have a strange feeling though, and she knows to trust her gut; her eyes frequently dart to the side, trying to catch if someone (something?) is watching her. It's notable that above the normal chocobo wings are two comparatively small, pale green ones.]

[Ah. A resident... the others would likely get upset if she were to prey on it.

Still, it's good to practice stealth. So closer she follows.]

[That creepy feeling refuses to go away, but Aerith is still to unused to this new body to be very sure of her senses--or how well she can run if there is something, and bolting might just spur whatever's out there into action.

Instead she opens her beak and calls out:] Hello? Hello-o-o... Anyone there?

Hey Aerith. You picked one hell of a time to come back. [And he doesn't even know she's a bird yet...]

[No, he doesn't know yet. Because I somehow mentally replaced "video" with "voice" every time when I wrote this entry. :|a *left it as is*]

I'm still trying to figure out where I came back to. What's going on?

The whole village is overrun by monsters and people trying to kill everyone. And the landscape keeps changing.

Zack! [She'd known it wasn't too likely someone would disappear in that short timeframe, but she's still relieved that small possibility is eliminated.]

Yeah, they finally dropped me off. Thank goodness! They're really boring hosts.
