Book location question

This question is from my new boss. Does anyone know of a book that contains commonly used terms for various decades and subjects? Like plumber terms from the 1950s or Financial terms from the 1980s? I'll win lots of bonus points if I can find it!

(BTW, I still *love* my new jobs.)

I don't know the answer, but if you get one, please be sure and share. It sounds like a wonderful resource.

My guess is there isn't a general reference work, but if you're looking for a particular field you might find a survey of terms for that and how they've changed over the years in some historical or anthropological journal.
