garden pron!!!

i was away for over a month and when i came home, my garden exploded (in a good way).  i was so excited, i forgot to kiss my husband and instead went to check everything out.

voila (very picture heavy).

left to right, back to front -  texas sage, two ornemental grasses, rosemary, coneflower, oregano and fennel on crack.  it's almost waist high on me!

culinary sage that's behind the oregano.  this sucker came back from one tiny little stem and two leaves.

collard greens - something's eating it, but i cant find it.

stevia, from a rogue re-seed

lantana that i transplanted after finding it randomly in my backyard (sorry for out of focus)

left to right, back to front - mammoth sunflowers,  butterfly bush from cutting that was a tiny little thing when i left, grape tomatoes, artichokes, roma tomatores, established butterfly bush, random wildflower re-seeds and basil thrown in for good measure. and some annual my 4yo picked out.

feverfew from a friend - say that ten times fast.

chives i found in arkansas and saved for the month on my parent's kitchen counter.

some wild onion blooming.

rosemary from cutting (yes, i need to weed, was too busy taking pictures)

i haz blueberriezz!!!

the backyard garden (please excuse the crappy fence - it's due to be replaced this summer)  left to right - zuccini in back, two rows of alaska peas, yellow squash, pie pumkin,  two rows of what should be broccoli, jack o'lantern pumpkin.  plus there's some rogue tomatoes in there.  ive probably got way too many vining plants in there for the space.  this is only my second year.  i already planning for a bigger bed next year.

two pods ready for harvesting.

lamb's ear, "4 o'clocks" - i had never heard of them, but my son picked them out and the packet said they grow in poor soil.  woot! lavender.

marigolds taking over a creeping philox and lemon balm

big bed o' carrots

upperside down tomatoe planter with three fruits!  we got a smidge of frost when i was gone so im nursing it back to health.

ive also got okra and blackberries plus some wildflowers and petunias and datura in front.  hopefully it all makes it come summer.
