Wow. I hope the old saguaros aren't getting ready to die...
English ivy blooms aren't anything to write home about. They are weird- the vine produces an upright stem of ovate leaves, and then these balls form on the end. We had a fence/hedge of ivy between our driveway and the alley where I grew up, and most every summer there would be one or two of those.
That I don't know. If they did, they would have just fallen down into the tangled morass of ivy and sprouted there, undetectable from the rest of the ivy.
