I love lab techs!

I went for my blood tests this morning with Margaux. The doctor's nurses were inexperienced with finding invisible veins, which I have, and they didn't have a butterfly so couldn't try that. I doubt that they use one of those regularly, though. The only time I have easily had blood taken was when I was pregnant.... very pregnant. So, after the ladies tried twice...once in my right hand, and once in the fold of my left arm, they wrote up a slip for the lab and sent me to Presbyterian Hospital. Margaux and I found it and then SHE found the lab... literally, she located the directory and figured out how to get to the lab. She's awesome. Her cognitive map is much better than mine. She's the coolest kid ever. I love her so much. Anyway, we got to the lab. All the chairs were small with arms, except one that was a bench, but a skinny pregnant woman was sitting there with her purse and novel occupying the other side. Oh well, Margaux and I stood. We talked about the bathroom and the fire extinguisher, then the lab tech came for me. He rubbed my arm with alcohol and I told him I was allergic, so he dried it off and used iodine instead. Put the tourniquet on my arm and skillfully inserted a needle and voila! The blood started filling vials. He was awesome. I told him so. He reminded me of Fez on That 70s Show. He was very cute.

Margaux told me her favorite boy on That 70s Show is Eric. I think that's so cute. I asked her why and she said because he's interested in a few of the same things that she is (I'm sure it's about Star Wars.). She's so adorable.

Anyway, so now I'm home, and just ate for the first time today... cold chicken and tomato cut up with dijon mustard.

Tonight is the WLS seminar at Baylor. Shahram will be home by 4:15.

I have to call for an echocardiogram now, while that office is still open!

And yes, I did exercise today! Woohoo! I haven't been making my workout comments in my journal like I used to. I've hardly missed a day. I think I missed two Mondays ago and three Mondays ago.
