Ideal Weight?

Jun 24, 2005 09:54

My BMI is 56.3, and the site tells me my ideal body weight is 141 pounds!  Holy Hanna!  Uh, no.  I'm thinking 170 would be fabulous.

I should be twenty pounds lighter, according to that site. Me. Twenty pounds.

Haaaay now.

Seriously, yeah, I could gain 5 pounds or more and be fine. The messed up comment really was more about you needing to lose 20.

These things are so messed up... Ignore them, they'll drive you nuts.

If you want a real BMI done, make sure you see one of those doctors with the water displacement machines. Might actually be a good idea since you're losing weight, you don't want to lose all the precious muscle mass you have.

I definitely think you're right about the quality of food in Europe. I was just reading about this somewhere...let me try to remember where.

I hate the charts too. It starts at birth when pediatricians start telling you how your baby's body compares to other babies' without taking into account heredity, culture or anything else.

You should have seen my parents' faces when it was suggested they couldn't feed their children.
