Been having a bit of Achilles heel
trouble, so I wrapped my ankle today for exercising. I walked in the treadmill
for 8.5 minutes, then started Disco Sweat. After the first song, I paused the
tape and removed the bandage--it was just too tight and I didn't feel like
messing with it, so I was just careful during the rest of the tape. Half way
into the second song, I went quickly back to my garage and got a set of 1.5 or 2
lb hand weights that I used to walk with back when I could go 5 miles at a
shot. I did about 3/4 of the rest of the workout with the hand weights. Wow,
did they ever make a difference. I will continue to use the handweights each
time I do aerobics. It made me much more conscious of where I was expending my
energy without them. It was a great workout and I pushed myself to do the abs
and the stretching and cool down at the end. I often tend to skip those parts,
feeling like they're not that important since my heart isn't pounding when I do
them, but I guess they are important, too.
