I often find myself apologizing for going off on my own magic carpet ride of thoughts in someone else's journal. I have been more conscious of it this week, and I wanted to ask everyone how they feel when their friends do this. I mean, when you write an entry about something, do you want the comments to relate directly to you and the situation in the entry, or do you not mind when people write long comments that are only in small part about what you've written?
I guess I was getting my ideas about this etiquette thing from watching
Wyndhover's and
Ruvoryn's journals when I first joined LiveJournal. It seemed the comments were usually limited to a sentence or two, max.
And what about two of your friends getting into a dialogue in your journal that has nothing to do with you or your situation, or only remotely?
It's funny that I'm an Unschooler, but so often get wrapped up in wanting to follow some rules. Hmmm....
Please let me know your honest opinion. If you want to post annonymously, that's fine.
