We've been having a warm, dry spring, which is pretty unusual weather in northern Minnesota. As much as we are tempted to push the gardening schedule ahead of normal, we have to be tempered by the fact that temperatures are falling into the low 20s as night. I know that it's so, so, so much work, and yet? I'm super-envious of your garden space.

Will you have a garden spot in your new house? I think all the outside pictures I've seen were of piles of snow ;)

There are very serious times when I'd really like a small house, in town, with a very small backyard garden. I guess the grass is greener ... I'd miss my chickens if I had to move to town though.

Well, the backyard doesn't receive a lot of sun, and we're not allowed to plant veggie gardens in the front (we asked housing). Plus, we'll be focusing on just repairing the grass for this first year - there's nothing but weeds right now. :-(

If you come down here to visit, I'll send you home with as much free pine straw as you can haul back to your house! :)

I am excited to hear more about your garden and the critters as the season progresses. I admit to living vicariously through you! I'd love to have a nice garden but I live in the shade and can't even grow weeds (seriously, did you see the picture of my back yard!)

The reason the garden is so far away from the house is that all around our house is woods and shade. Nice for a cool house, but otherwise inconvenient.

I had to think for a minute what you meant by "pine straw." Lol. Dave's boss gives us bags and bags of it every year. Thanks though :) I think if I come to Georgia it will be for the people, not the pine straw ;D
