my latest annoyance is the soda machine here at work. it, like all soda machines in a high traffic area, enjoys taunting me with its"Exact Change Only" sign. after my daily taunting today, i came up with the brilliant idea of putting a "Keep The Change" button onto soda machines that would allow me to part with three quarters for an ice cold

that'd be swell if the excess change was credited toward the next person's purchase. but i'm sure the vending machine owners would just pocket it. that's what i'd do anyway, if i were greedy and owned a pepsi machine.

it would be really cool if it was like a vending slot machine. it takes your extra nickel, but then you have a one in fourteen chance of your drink being free.

seriously, though, i always thought "exact change only" meant you could go ahead and put too much, it just won't give you anything back. have you tried just putting in 75 cents?

yep, tried the 75 cent thing. that's why it needs a 'keep the change' button. it works with valets, why not with soda machines?
