tonight we were at a showing of open water. about twenty minutes into the movie, a cricket starts chirping really loudly from the corner. REALLY loudly. if there were zombies in the room, i'm sure even they would have been annoyed.

Hmm...I heard that movie was supposed to be like the next Jaws or something. But I suppose if you add a chirping cricket into anything it'll detract from the over all mood of the movie.

not really the next jaws. it goes more for squirmy discomfort rather than jump-in-your-seat thrills. most people who see it are going to go in expecting something they aren't going to get and that will make them hate the movie. i hated blair witch project for that same reason--i was expecting to jump in my seat and stuff.

Were you able to focus enough to decide if it was any good or not?

Anyway, what a priceless mental picture you've given me...Jon furiously poking about in a dark movie theater for a rude little cricket...I shall treasure it always. :)

yeah, i liked it. it was $5.50 night at the ritz and it was well worth the money spent. i talked to a couple of the people in the screening afterwards and apparently the people behind us couldn't hear the cricket at all. i must have looked rather foolish.

...I'm filling in at the front desk this morning (hence why I can sneak on LJ, that isn't blocked at least) and one of your little chirping frineds is in the lobby somewhere.

I can't find it, but I can hear it and I wanna step on him. Only two and a half more hours of listening to him then I can return back to my little hole.
