Why don't you realize by now that the general population has HORRIBLE taste in music?? Your new Weezer choice is an excellent one. So the concert was pretty close to amazing. Not "very close" though. I will tell you why. The majority of the fans there were people who know nothing about going to shows. First, you never wear the band's T-shirt, or any apparel whatsoever. Second, there were SO MANY lamo teenagers there. Meanwhile I'm thinking to myself...Weezer has been around since the early 90's. Where are all the twenty-somethings?? Mostly, the audience was frat boys, brainless blonde sorority girls, gay male couples, and no.one.cool. But lets just say that Rivers is extremely unexpressive in a charming way, and they sang old, and new. Did a guitar solo on every song in good old Weezer fashion. They didn't sing El Scorcho, but their sound was impeccably familiar and album-like. In general, not a disappointment at all. What say you about the lame Weezer fans I encountered? WHY is WRONG with this world? The uncool are taking over.
ok, it's really not that atrocious. i admit it's not their best album, but let's not be ridiculous here. some of the lyrics are rather trite and i think that's really the album's biggest weakness. other than that, most of the songs are pretty damn catchy and pretty close to what weezer does best--nerdy/quirky power pop. have you listened to it more than once?
i'll agree with you on the live performances bit though. they're one of the weaker bands i've seen play live. tenacious d opened for them when i saw them, so that made it all worth it.
Does the Christmas tree happen to play Weezer songs better than Weezer does? If it does, I'll take back my previous comment. Both times I saw them they were without this magical christmas tree, and it was awful.

B: Weezer puts on one of the worst live performances I've ever had the misfortune of seeing.
