i went to pat's steaks for my first time, even though i've been a philly native all my life. i was disappointed. the best steaks are made by jim's and the random local places you'll find when you aren't looking for them.

buckle is my new favorite store.

the shield is an even more kickass show this season than last.

nope, that was one of those local joints. man, those were some crazy cheesesteaks.

they're the reason i take such delight in explaining the different between a philly cheesesteak and a jersey cheesesteak. mmm, cheesesteakery.

the best "Philly" cheesesteak I remember having came from Jersey. Southwest Jersey, though - very close to Philly, and certainly under its sphere of influence. It is weird, though, how a seemingly simple concept is often so ineptly carried out once you exit the Philly sphere. I don't get it.

When I was a kid I once had a "cheesesteak" at Subway. Worst sandwich experience ever. They put olives and other crap on it and the taste was just bad.
