Sherlock is in hospital. I had to threaten him and practically carry him there, but I'm not going to apologize for it. Turns out it isn't just a cold after all, and he's not the only one with these symptoms. Unfortunately nothing they've done seems to be helping him.
This is so frustrating. Most of the doctors won't give me any information because a) I'm not family, and b) they don't seem to believe (or care) that I'm a doctor. (They weren't going to let me stay after visiting hours either, until I flat out refused to leave and they decided it wasn't worth the trouble of having security throw me out.) I suppose I haven't been here long enough to establish any credentials. I can't even read Sherlock's chart, since it's all electronic and locked down. They keep telling us not to worry, but I can tell Sherlock doesn't believe that any more than I do.
Whatever this is, it presented as a cold at first. Now it's progressed to a fever, lethargy, a severe cough with occasional bloody sputum, and a large bruise that seems to have appeared without any accompanying physical injury.
I'm going to post this publicly because hopefully someone out there has more information. After one of the doctors told us there were other cases I remembered seeing other people posting about illnesses. I wasn't paying enough attention and now I can't remember who they were or when they were posted.
Any information would be helpful.
