[the intercom suddenly switches on, and the sound of many desperate, terrified squeaks can be heard, as well as the taptaptap of many tiny feet running.]

[finally, one very high-pitched voice, yelling at someone behind it, moves closer to the microphone, and after a moment it clears its throat. The voice is sounding much more natural now.]

Ahem. This is your Captain speaking.

We seem to have a minor ... situation. A slight misunderstanding with the Praxis'ons, but there is no reason to be concerned. We have everything under control. I repeat, everything is under control.

Don't. Panic.

However, if the refugees would like to offer their assistance in clearing the S.S. Thor of these pests, a reward may be offered.

Thank you, and Happy Hallowe'en!

[and with a click the feed cuts off.]

The S.S. Thor's Hallowe'en event has now started. First of all though, we have a few more details for you. Please read this through, as it's important.

The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy has this to say about the Praxis'ons:

A vaguely humanoid species, Praxis'ons enjoy immersing themselves in the folklore of holidays from various planets and cultures due to a collective lack of long term memory in their species. After picking a folklore to adopt, they use their technology to re-created some aspects of it (no one has ever received a satisfactory answer to how they remember what to do) and enjoy those for a few generations until no one remembers what they were there for.

They also have a tendency to help others celebrate in the same way, gifting them with iconic figures. This normally ends with them patting themselves on the back and congratulating each other on a job well done, basking in the screams of thanks.

The entire S.S. Thor has now been decorated in a Hallowe'en theme. The lights in the corridors are dimmed, and in some places flickering or not working at all. Some areas have turned into minor forest, crooked trees making passage difficult (and turning back impossible). There are bats flying overhead, candles and pumpkins somehow making you wish there was no light at all, suits of armor and skeletons and -- did that move?! Must have been your imagination. Right?

There are also a few monsters roaming around. Be careful, because normal attacks do no damage to these beasts, and they are all capable of turning you into one of them. To defend against them you will need a plant, and the details of which plants are available will be posted in the comments.

Zombies - No one knows why this species starts out as the shuffling, decomposing undead, but evolution apparently decided that life was overrated. They reproduce by eating their victim's brains and turning them into one of them. Ewww. May or may not actually have started out as dolphins. Check on them to see.

Difficulty: Easy ( a few hits by anything and they tend to fall apart; if wearing things like tin buckets, traffic cones, or football helmets more hits will be needed; Tall-nuts can stop zombie dolphins )

Mummies - Nearly Zombie-like, mummies are constantly searching for their mommies, wrapping up people in cloth on their way. They may be slow, but they certainly mean business.

Difficulty: Easy ( a few hits by anything or simply tripping them )

Vampires - These creatures are pale, with a deep thirst for blood. More than willing to rip out someone's throat for a quick meal, they're prone to do a lot more damage if you ask them about sparkling. It must be some sort of defense mechanism.

Difficulty: Medium ( garlic and a spiky cactus )

Werewolves - Giant, bipedal wolves who normally wear shredded remains of clothing. They like howling at random, playing fetch, and mauling unsuspecting passerby's. Tend to stash all their victim's bones in a pile for future use.

Difficulty: Hard ( only shrooms do damage to them )

Boss - ???

Difficulty: ???

Now, while we love crazy shenanigans as much as everyone else, this will work a lot better with a bit of organization. So, onto the rules!

1. Monsters only take damage from plants, no matter how powerful you are.

2. Each character gets 100 sunshine points at the beginning of the events. They can use these to buy any plant they want from the list.

3. Keep in mind that certain plants can only be used once.

4. To get more sunshine points, they will have to find a sunflower. They can do this by either finding someone who chose a sunflower as their plant, or by locating them randomly across the space station.

5. The mods will let you know where these sunflowers can be found by randomly commenting to posts with a picture of a sunflower and a time stamp. That sunflower will disappear after one hour is over, and give everyone who replies an additional 25 sunshine points. One character cannot comment to the same sunflower twice.

6. If you don't want to participate in the event, there will be safe areas in certain places of the ship. Room 42 on every floor has been opened and cleared of any monster themed decorations, and Lux is somehow unaffected (though may have some decorations of its own).

7. Your character can be turned into a monster if you want. At the end of the event, they'll simply turn back.

8. Characters will normally keep all memories of the event, but if for some reason you'd like them not to, that's fine as well!

We'll be commenting to this post with the plants available. Reply to those comments to let us know which plant you choose. Please do not reply to this entry until the plant list has been posted. OKAY WE"RE DONE. HAVE AT IT, GUYS.

ALSO WE LEFT THE MOON. IT'S DONE. OVER. KAPUT. FINISHED.

Comments to this post will be OOC.
