[when the guide turns on, Bruce is in business mode- the smile, the posture, like every day of the majority of his life. But underneath the corporate happy, there is, dare I say, actual happy]
Ladies and gentlemen of the S. S. Thor, from all corners of every universe;
My home city was not a pleasant one. Crime was rampant. Violence was a consistent part of everyday life. Its citizens were left stricken with apathy- barely surviving within a system so riddled with greed and corruption. Children learned to immediately distrust those with power, for those in charge would never consider the needs of the people. The situation was believed to be helpless- a city to write off, to avoid on road trips and keep out of mind.
My father brought hope to this city. He proved the city would not be forgotten, so long as there were those with the courage to fight against what they believed was wrong. He created an institution so his workers could say they had a legal job. He created an institution so these hard-working people could say, with honor, that they had a hand in improving the lives of the entire city. He created an institution to remind this place that justice could be served.
It would be selfish for me to assume my announcement would have this same significance to you- a population so diverse, from untold times and places. I can only hope that this incarnation of that company follows in these noble footsteps. If we can make our lives here on the Thor better, if there is even the chance- we owe it to ourselves to try.
The health of the people has long been a concern on this ship. We’ve made it through infections and viruses. We’ve worked for the systems created by the administration on the ship and we’ve started a refugee-run clinic. We’ve made a bold statement: that the welfare on this ship is important enough for us to take action. Today, I take my first step.
It is with great pleasure that I announce the opening of the first of what will be many- Wayne Biotech, a division of Wayne Enterprises.
[and here we are a year later~ dfsdgh sorry guys I’m sappy it’s my one-year anniversary and I just want to say that I’d never thought I’d be in one place for so long, so thank you, mostly harmless, for all the good times, and here’s to a new year! oh god shut up with the cheese already Corinne]
