Yeah. But then sometimes you find out people don't have the money after all, or they want you to pay for damages from the fight, or there's some other reason why you don't get paid.

Nah. I can usually tell when they're just trying to shake me down, and I don't let 'em get away with it.

If they really don't have the money though, what am I gonna do? Send a different demon after them to eat them after all? I just call it my good deed for the day and move on.
