It's as though you're accruing soldiers for another war, Une.

Service without consent is slavery. Not something I'd condone.

Worth? I have none of my own. I'm hardly in any position to judge others unless push comes to shove.

You think you lack worth, Une?

I know better than to overestimate myself.

To underestimate can be just as fatal.

Point taken. I do consider myself a work in progress. Striking a balance would be my aim. After all, how can I accomplish something if I deem my abilities lacking before I even begin? Some confidence is required. At times, I have it in spades. On other occasions, I suffer a severe deficit. Is it hypocrisy or self-contradiction? In any case, neither aids in efficiency.

At least you know yourself well enough to know which diseases you suffer from. That in itself can be rewarding.

Disease? Character flaws are hardly pathogenic. That's what makes them so difficult to address. Individuals often times want to bask in the illusion of the perfect self they perceive themselves to be. They see no harm in it and fall prey to no symptoms. Narcissism is far more dangerous than disease.

Pride goes only as far as one can spit.

All that aside, may I inquire as to your well-being? Settling in well-enough?

Discarded any more masterpieces of late? I've seen people picking them up in the halls.

[a rather obvious pause, expression pensive]

No. My taste for "missions" is rather low.

That's a pity. Would you require assistance?

As for "missions," a lot of them do leave much to be desired.

Only if a God could instill me with more patience.

If there is such a being.

Patience is abundant. One only has to find it.

So would you be declining my offer of aid until you find your patience, Mister Shinsuke? Does my company require you to have it?
