[she doesn't notice the cat right at first cause she's walking and reading out of the library with her own white cat sitting on top of her head. but when her cat meows at the one at maka's feet, she looks away from her book and glances down at it.]
[ That cat is completely justified in its reaction. THIS IS NOT A GOOD KITTY, not that you can tell, Maka.
This cat eyes the book and, as though it recognizes what Maka is reading, it continues to stare at it and starts wagging its tail slowly back and forth, as if it were pleased.
A mystery book, really? Bernkastel wonders if you're TRYING to get her to obsess over you, Maka Albarn. ]
It's a pretty scary book. It's about this famous writer that goes to his lake house with his wife for a little vacation. And since he's been at the lake house, he's been getting very vivid nightmares of killing. -- Each time he tells his wife about them, she thinks he's putting too much thought into the nightmares. Dreams are just dreams and they can't hurt you.
But lately, there's been a lot of murders going on in town and people are trying to figure out who did it. And one day when he woke up, his wife was gone. He did think much of it because she said the day before she was going to wake up early to go shopping. -- But she's been missing for hours now.
I'm at the part where he's calling the police about it.
...? Huh? -- Hey there, little guy.
[then she peers up at the cat on her head.]
