[When the feed turns on, it shows Basch with fragments of glass in his hand, the remnants of something that used to be a perfume bottle.]
This was delivered to me erroneously, this morning. Upon inspection, it seemed to be a bottle of perfume, however--
[He cants his head, furrowing his brows a little.]
The thing was delicate. My apologies to any

Ahem.]
I hope may I have the opportunity to make your heart glad again.
Ah, I overheard you say that you broke a bottle? I do hope your hands are all right. [She takes his hand and turns it over, looking for cuts.]

I bore a few cuts, but none of consequence.
[He has a scrape or two, which he shows her calmly-- in the process, he takes his free hand and holds her wrist, as if supporting it.]

Still, you had best have them taken care of. I can bandage them for you once we get to my room, if you like.

[And he takes her hand in his and presses his lips against it once more, letting go and once again starting to escort her, in knightly fashion.
A man of few words, but a silent romantic, maybe. MAYBE.]

[Peculiar, how attracted to him she'd feeling, because she usually drawn to the more adventurous types... but nothing to say that this gentleman didn't have his fair share of adventurous spirit too. Not that silent romantics aren't nice as well...]
[They walk in silence for a moment, then they enter the corridor that her room is along.]
Here we are... Please, come inside. [As she leads the way to the washroom, she asks,]
Tell me, if you would, what is your vocation?

He follows Irene into her room (which is something he would NOT have done on a sane day) and moves towards the sink to rinse his hands.]
Formerly a knight of the Dalmascan army. I have lost my post due to erroneous dishonor, but I have ne'er forsaken my vows.

As he washes his hands she reaches under the sink to bring out the box of adhesive bandages (quite thing thing, that innovation!), then picking a clean towel holds it out. (Whether he takes it or allows her to dry his hands is up to him.)]
I see. Well, do not worry. The past doesn't matter too much here, on this ship in the stars.

[Captain Honorable fon Knightface indeed.
He takes the towel himself, and cleans his hands off before handing Irene the cloth, bowing his head respectfully at her in a show of gratitude.]
You do me too much good.

And I was about to do a little more. But if I continue doing too much good to you, how ever might you be able to repay me?

I would have you state your conditions.

And oh, dear, don't put the ball in her court when her head is full of amorous perfume. (She's got to stop meeting men this way. Or... not, really. She doesn't mind.)]
[Her smile deepening, she takes his hand to bandage one small cut that is still bleeding. That done, she gives the tip of his finger a light but lingering kiss. Stepping close, she clasps his hand in hers and holds it to her chest.
She is really not that type of woman, but she is finding herself inexorably attracted to him. And she would rather like to do something about it.]
Oh, I have something in mind. [Quite literally. That mental image from earlier- ahem.]
But perhaps you would like to see if my first condition is agreeable before I state my second.
[And with a quick motion she brings a hand up behind his head to encourage him to bend forward, as she goes up on her toes to kiss the knight deeply.]

--but of course, there's not much room for rational thinking when Basch is quite literally the equivalent of an intoxicated person right now. He has to lean forward to meet Irene's lips, but he does so with an almost laughable earnesty, putting one hand against her cheek and carefully reciprocating.
A romantic, this one.]

Are you agreeable to a further, second condition? [It doesn't take much imagination to interpret her tone to see how much 'further' she means.]
Reply
...but let's just blame this on the perfume, okay? Captain Ronsenburg is not sound of mind right now, and Irene is a very attractive woman, and we all know where that leads. sobbing
Instead of answering, Basch moves forward and sweeps Irene off her feet, literally, carrying her easily in bridal fashion. GET OUT BASCH]

Last door on the right.
[She then applies a quick hand and easily undoes the buckles of his vest.]
