[On the screen, a Vogon is droning on about arrival paperwork and returning passengers. Suddenly a voice off screen speaks.]

Enough.

[A hand reaches into view and taps the Vogon on the head, instantly knocking it unconscious. As the Vogon's head hits the desk, the Guide is picked up and a very annoyed Castiel looks into the screen for a minute ( Read more... )

[He looks puzzled for a moment.]

The alien? I don't know. I wasn't listening.

[. . .]

It sounded important. Not that it matters, though. I was just curious.

Nothing seems to have changed while I was ...gone.

You were gone?

... Yes. I returned to my world for a few years. I'm not entirely sure how that was possible, or why I'm back now.

I was told about this. Something to do with a "wormhole" or such thing as it's called. Time slips, alternate history, that sort of thing has been attributed to this.

I have no idea how it works, but it's what I was told.

I've heard the same explanation, but it doesn't make sense. A time slip doesn't make sense if my world was destroyed when I first came here.

[He abruptly cuts off the explanation and just frowns.]

I suppose it doesn't matter, since from what I remember this place never offers any answers.

It doesn't offer a thing. That's why I think we have to accept what we're told to a certain degree and move on.

That is good advice, but it's not any easier to accept a second time around.

Yes, well... If I go back, so help me, someone is getting punched.

[She chuckles.] No, the entire thing is just too absurd to consider, isn't it? Do you feel any different?

From the last time I was here? I suppose I am somewhat different. Much happened in two years.

[And it's slowly dawning on him that something's not right here.]

When was the last time we spoke?

[She looks thoughtful for a minute, then speaks slowly...]

A few weeks, by my recollection. The days here run together.

... I see.

[That's given him something to think about.]
