This is Haruno Sakura, reporting back after finishing the first round of paperwork from docking the Loki. A full mission report will be on file for anyone wanting to read through in the next few days, just let me know if you're interested. Minato-san's already made the list of disappearances and Martel's striking out on her own public, so there's ( Read more... )

[ tired, but... glad. ]

Thank you. How've things been on the ship the last month and a half?

Oh the usual. Occasional boring days in between weeks of insanity.

Things have been going rather well, most of the time. We've had a bit of trouble with the Purists or their supporters, but nothing major so far. Just some graffiti and minor property damage.

[ She laughs. ]

It's sad to think that really is the normal state for things around here.

All of that on the Purists account? [ Hear the frown in her voice? ] We ran into a few talks about them out in the systems we moved through. They're... less active when the fleet isn't involved. Has it been driving people away?

So far it's only happened when the clinic is closed, and most of the refugees seem more angry than frightened. That could all change though, if they get bolder with their attacks.

Did you find some answers during your journey?

A few things, if it's not exactly satisfactory. For one, well... Like I aid. Mission objective completed.

As far as the Purists go, there's just a little information we ran into. I don't know if it's news to anyone here. Sigrun's basically an intergalactic legend, by the way. People aren't sure it exists.

Yes, well it can stay a legend as far as I'm concerned.

Did you discover anything about anyone's home planet?

A handful. I can't say it's good news. We did locate the systems of a few planets... all the worlds that were stated as missing or destroyed were. The summaries were accurate. Four of the worlds they reported as being gone were gone.

... Well, that's not very encouraging. I suppose in the absence of proof there was still hope. Sounds like we might have to face the fact that our planets are truly gone.

Or at least four of them are. I won't make claim on the rest, but for four random planets out of the hundreds listed, it's still notable as a percentage.

True, I don't particularly like those odds. It's good to have some facts though, even if they're not the ones we might have wanted.

Facts are facts. The more of them you have, the better a base you can build for your beliefs. It does make certain missions by outside groups all the more insidious, in ways.

I was planning to leave you a copy of my mission report to look over. Would that be all right?

I'd appreciate that. I'd be very interested to read it, and I'm sure Sherlock would too actually.

We should probably talk sometime about possibly implementing more security for the clinic as well.

I can get two copies to you in that case. Aah, would both Sherlocks, maybe? Sherlock and Holmes.

Sometime sounds like as soon as possible.

Good point. Better make it three copies.
