[John doesn't look happy. Behind him you can see a bedroom that has piles of clutter everywhere - books, a few plants, random stacks of paper, and even miscellaneous lab equipment. He's also holding a jar that seems to be filled with eyeballs.]I've asked you more than once to keep your things out of my room. I told you the next time ( Read more... )

[She shakes her head slightly.]
I don't know how you stand being with the two of them, my dear. Your patience with them is truly deep, but I'm rather pleased to see it is not bottomless.

That I'm easily swayed by your seductive wiles?

Yes~ - as your dear flatmate so bluntly put it, you are many things, but strong-willed against a pretty face is one thing you are not.
But if I may say so, I believe you have a stronger will than he gives you credit for.

Would you like a go at guessing the second characteristic?

I'd like to think it's that I'm an "intellectual challenge", but I doubt Sherlock would agree.

Oh, but you're right, the other one he was right on was that! You are quite bright already, John. And if you stay around him a bit you will certainly pick up considerable deductive powers of your own.

As for the others, I don't mind a man who is a bit stubborn, and I hardly want to be doted on. ...Although it is synonymous with more agreeable things, but then that's just semantics.

Then it seems I'm your type after all.

[She blinks, for a rare moment speechless. Then a gentle smile returns.]

And now?

Now I think we've spent enough time discussing Sherlock's opinions on your taste in men.

[She laughs at that and relaxes, propping her chin on her hand.]

You are absolutely right, my dear! See how wise you are? Enough of that gossip.

Now, I want to hear about you. [An appraising glance.] You have clearly been far too busy this month.

What makes you say that?

[She smiles broadly for a beat.]

Simply I pass by the clinic every now and then, and I've seen it get busier and busier.

Ah, I see. Yes, we do seem to be getting more patients. I suppose word has spread amongst the refugees.

[Did you think she was going to do a Holmes-like deduction on you? She could do that too~]

Congratulations are in order, then. You are helping a lot of people who might otherwise had gone without.
Just remember to take care of yourself as well, so you can best help others.
