[The feed clicks on, and the guide's camera is directed squarely at Erik. For those who might be in the area, they'll notice that the guide itself appears to be floating on its own; otherwise, those catching this feed through the network might simply assume Erik's found something to prop it up on as he broadcasts ( Read more... )

What exactly do you mean by human? In this place, the word kind of loses its meaning. What's considered human and what isn't considered human. [Blahblah. Philosophical things. And a kid who looks too young to be interested.]

Also, what type of unusual ability? Do you mean something that most people can't usually pull off? Or something like, a power that is rarely gifted to people.

Very well. Perhaps I should have asked instead what everyone else considers 'normal', instead. [implying that he's asking you such a question! Even though you are a bit young and he's raising a brow.]

Rarely gifted. Highly individualized. But again, perhaps also up for interpretation. I'm merely interested in answers, not how everyone interprets the term.

Well I just wanted to clear that up. I come from a place where humans become rather subjective considering the population differed quite a bit. But I guess we mean humans that are born and raised on land without any outstanding abilities. Not something like an Atlantean or someone who is foreign from your planet. [Like Superman!]

I want to consider myself normal, but I know that I've been trained in abilities that aren't usually normal for my age.

Answer your question?

More or less, yes. In my world, the distinction between human and not is... or rather, would have been a point of contention. I suppose that's much less of a problem now.

You said 'trained'. For what purpose?

It's not so important here since everyone seems to have a varying amount of oddity towards them. It wasn't that big of a problem on my planet either though.

[Points to the mask then flaps the cape a little.] Domino mask. Cape. Logo on the chest that probably means nothing unless you're familiar with it. I guess this isn't obvious unless you're used to a world full of them.

[To Erik, you just look like a kid in a silly costume. Ironic coming from a man with interesting choices in color scheme when it comes to his own in the not-so-far future.]

Full of what? Trick-or-treaters?

[If only he was a kid in a silly costume. Then he wouldn't spend so much time causing trouble with his tech skills. At least this Robin doesn't wear the scaled underwear anymore.]

Woah. I guess manners aren't from your place sheesh. Even being called a sidekick is ten times better then being called a trick-or-treater. I honestly have never actually went trick-or-treating. [Too busy being an acrobat.]

What I lack in tact I make up for in curiosity. Why the costume, then? Maybe you can win me over to the idea.

Well obviously the mask is meant to hide my identity. Heaven forbid superheroes have double lives. [Haha. Child sarcasm.]

The suit is made of kevlar. Since I don't have special powers like most of my team does, I need to have some form of protection. The color offsets my mentor who's tall, dark, and really super brooding. It's really kind of astonishing how much a guy can brood. Utility belt has all my gadgets to ensure I have as many possible defenses. The cape? Why not I guess.

Does your planet not have teenagers running around in stupid costumes to protect the world or is that just mine? [Oh man did you miss the Otaku planet. That was super creepy.]

Art not for art's sake, but art and efficiency. I can't argue against that.

I believe it's just yours. [HA. HA.] But now that you mention it, it sounds familiar. 'Capes'? [He's had a similar conversation before.]

Beats, I don't know, wearing scaled underwear or something. [Knock on wooodddd.]

Huh. God, other words sound cellent then. Capes? Are people calling us that? I mean, forget the fact that not all of us wear capes. [Hi, stop being technical Robin.]

[To be fair, the person he asked was from a different... publishing company universe than you.] I'm only telling you what I hear. Should I call you something else instead?

[They're all the same after awhile. Crazy kids running around in bright colors.] Huh. Robin is fine. As far as names go. I mean, I guess Capes is an okay term. I wonder if people without capes get offended by it. Probably not, unless you're that sensitive.

Robin. [How novel.] Titles seem to be very popular recently. The idea obviously isn't as ridiculous as I initially thought. [Raven would be so happy to hear it.]

Personally? I don't know why someone wouldn't want a cape.

What? The animal names? Or specifically bird names? I'm going to tell you now, being named after animals isn't super rare. [Maybe one day Raven will meet DCverse Raven. Not sure they'd make friendies though.]

I like my cape, but I know some people think they're a hindrance. Like people with super speed. [Stupid speedsters. BT]

No. Just the... 'codenames' in general.

[Hey now, my son is a speedster. Well. The son this version of me doesn't have. Whatever. You get the idea.] But you needn't worry about that, I assume.
