Well, this is interesting. I can't claim that it's a situation I ever would have anticipated, but it's interesting, nonetheless. Ah, it brings up a lot of fascinating questions, don't you think? How is one supposed to feel on discovering their home world - everything they knew and all the people that ever meant anything to them - has been

What kind of world did you come from, if you don't mind me asking?

Well, that's a lot of information! Thank you for being so thorough. It certainly sounds complicated...and I have a few more questions, if you don't mind.
Are both weapons and meisters still human? And is being a meister a skill you are born with, or something you learned to develop though attendance at the school you mentioned? Also, what exactly do you mean by Witches and people with 'corrupted souls'?

Yes, both Weapons and Meisters are still human. Being classified as a Meister is something you're inherited with. And for skills, it depends on the person whether they develop it right away or not. It took me a few months to gain my soul perception ability, but a friend whose a Miester also took much longer than that.
If a Weapon feeds on innocent souls, they transform into pre-kishins. Pre-kishins are demons that were once humans and once they reach this level, there's no way of returning them back to their normal selves because of their souls are too corrupted. They'll continue to feed on the innocent until they become a full pure Kishin, a Demon God that can destroy all of humanity. Our job is to keep the pre-kishin population to a small amount, so that will never happen. Witches are just as threatening. They're our natural enemies and have destructive nature, so we have to seek out for them as well.

Feeding on the souls of the innocent...well that sounds unpleasant. Though what do you mean by feeding, exactly? Are you speaking of feeding in a literal sense?
And so your occupation before you arrived here was to try and preserve the lives of humans by eradicating their enemies? How nobel of you~
[Its actually something he can appreciate, given that he prefers to be the only one who interferes with the lives of humans, though in his case this excludes killing. With his own hands, at least...he's unlikely to ever stand in the way of people killing either themselves or each other]

Well, thank you! I may not be in my world anymore, but I'm still a Shibusen student and my duties still apply to me.

You're quite welcome~ It is reassuring to know there are people around who hold human lives in such high regard ♥

Well, I'm glad! In that case, if you're ever in a jam let me know, okay? I'll do my best to help out.

Ah, thank you. I'll be certain to keep that in mind.

What about you, Izaya? What was your world like?

Nothing like yours, judging by what you've told me. The vast majority of people are regular humans living their daily lives, though I always found it interesting just the same.

And there's nothing wrong with that! I take it you came from Japan?
