32nd Decree - Calling All the Swordmasters

Oct 15, 2011 12:55

[It is time for another announcement, Thor, by the one and only Ashura! Sure it's not that exciting to many of you, but for him it is since this means he is coming along well with the formation of his business. But anyways, on to the important things!]

As you all may know, I am starting my own business that will focus on teaching students the skills ( Read more... )

[Of course, Gakupo will answer the call of the dance and sword!]

I'd like to have an interview, if possible.

Excellent, Gakupo. I shall see you at four then?

[ooc: if you want, you can transfer to 4 for an interview in this thread. Or, I can assume that he came and 'passed' if you really want Gakupo to have the job. Just tell me if he wants it full-time or part.]

(ooc: I'll skip to four in this thread. Too good of an opportunity to show off his skills.)

I'll be there! Thank you.

[Once four hits, Gakupo arrives, hair in place, sword polished, his clothes looking rather clean and crisp. Yes, this will be a good day for dancing. Although very confident in his abilities, Gakupo can't help but be a bit nervous. Not everyone has the same tastes in music and dance.]

[Ashura is already waiting and he nods when he sees Gakupo, smiling at the man, motioning for him to enter.]

Excellent timing, Gakupo. You are fist.

...I am? [He hadn't expected that, but oh well. Less pressure to deal with.

He unsheathes his sword, Miburi, which makes a light ring as he withdraws it. Once he finds the center of the room, he bows before taking a crouching stance.

The first movement he makes with his weapon produces a high pitched sound, followed by a series of other movements to start off the first piece he will be performing. Keeping the sword high and spinning on the ball of his foot, Gakupo keeps the note going for as long as he can, for about four counts before moving fluidly into the rest of the fighting dance.

It is the combination of fighting and dancing that keeps each note smooth and unbroken. High swings produce high notes, low swings bring forth lower octaves, and all are mixed in with various dance moves such as parries or barrel rolls.

He may also be having too much fun, but he finishes eventually. The purple tresses are no longer in place as they were earlier, but he does not mind that at all.]

[He is honestly surprised and entranced by the swing of the sword, how it produces the music. Ashura usually uses his jewels and movements of his body to create music, and he finds the idea of a sword producing the tune fascinating and exciting.

He makes marks as Gakupo moves, pleased to find there seem to be parallels between Gakupo's overall style and Ashura's own. He is sure Gakupo can pick up on his style quickly and would provide a good sparring partner for advanced students.]

That was very well done, Gakupo.

[He gives a bow, sheathing his blade.]

Thank you. I'm a bit rusty, however, but I'm pleased that you enjoyed the performance.

Well, if you get chosen, are you wanting a full time position or a part time?

[He hadn't expected to be offered anything past part time, so Gakupo looks quite surprised.]

I'd prefer full time, if possible. If that is not feasible, part time works as well.

Having at least one other full-time instructor would be nice, be they dance or sword. If I find no other applicants, I am happy to let you have the full-time slot, though I can only offer moderate pay to start I am afraid.

I'm okay with that! [He would do it for free, really.] The life of an artist is not always about the monetary fortune.

Though I shall do my best to keep you from destitution.
