[A day had already passed, still the Justicar had not tinkered with her guide plug's text, audio or video functions. One could argue she was putting off confirming that her home planet, or more like entire universe she was familiar with, had been destroyed and, instead, sought to find peace by meditating first. Much had happened up until she was ( Read more... )

We've been warned not to leave the ship with the threat of death as a penalty. As you can imagine this has deterred a great many from trying to seek out their own planets. Other than that, it is hard for others to work up the great sum of money it takes in order to get a ship to go check.

Currently no one, that I know of, has tried to revisit their planet. The Captains will also provide no proof, either.

[And as such, he thinks this is a bunch of horsecrap and that said captains are liars. Can you blame him?]

[Despite what the young man had said, Samara's expression and voice remained serene. She would not let the his words anger her and, instead, took them with a grain of salt. Some things are better confirmed by one's self, especially when you are a Justicar. However, at least it gave her a lead as to who she should interrogate question.]

So they are, essentially, imprisoning those aboard THOR? Forcing them to accept their new lives in captivity or die trying to escape it?

[She begins to pace, but still holds the guide.]

They let you leave if you really feel like it. I think I remember a few refugees deciding to stay on the planet while the ship left. But our Captains have said that if we stray from the ship we will die. No exceptions.

[Yeah I see what the Captains are doing here. IMPRISONMENT IMPRISONMENT!!!]

So there is the option. However, leaving means you will not be welcomed back for reasons unspecified?

[And then... you know... end up on some uncharted planet only to have something there kill you prematurely or, eventually, die from aging.]

[That causes a small pause as he thinks.]

I haven't seen them stop anyone trying to come back- or make any mention of doing so. I imagine all that faces you should you not die, is another mountain of paperwork. [Not die is stressed because he still thinks this is a bunch of lies.]

[And then Samara realizes that the conversation was reaching some pretty grey area and she was making assumptions. Never a good combination for a Justicar.]

Thank you, but I believe I had heard enough. If I find the funds or equipment necessary to leave this place, I shall test this theory. For now, however, I will have no choice but to adapt to my new surroundings.

[The abrupt end of it all was certainly surprising. But he isn't about to press conversation on someone who doesn't want it so he merely nods.]

You'll find your way around. Everyone does eventually.

[Yes, abrupt end was abrupt.]

Thank you for your assurance. Perhaps the next time we meet, it will be in person.[Because in all honesty Samara can remember the good old days when people talked in person and not over these ipad looking booklets. She's kind of missing them.]

[He grins with a small nod. Oh yes. He misses them too.]

My name is Atem. [Thinking to provide her with that since he didn't really say anything about himself since they started.]

[Although she had stated her name in the beginning of her video, she wouldn't be surprised if most had forgotten it.]

And I am Samara, I am glad we had this chat Atem.
