Papa told me when I turn sixteen, it will the most magical moment in my entire life. He went on and on about how the Academy would throw this huge celebration. People would come from miles and miles to see how beautifully I've grown. A strawberry cake that would be twice its size, music would be played by the best DJ around, I would wear a tiara made with real jewels, and a pink flowing dress that would sparkle as I'd made my way to the ballroom. And the conversation ended with him crying when he mentioned the father-daughter dance.
I didn't get it when I was six and I still don't get it now. Why is turning sixteen so important?
