Okay everybody! Event info!
The Babel Fish are tired of being used and abused by the entire S.S. Thor community, so they're going on strike! What does this mean for you guys?
8( Y'all won't be able to understand one another all weekend. Unless of course, you're all from the same world/speak the same dialects as one another. If you have any questions as to whether or not your world's language would be translatable to others, PLEASE ASK US HERE WITH INFORMATION ON THE SIMILARITIES BETWEEN THE LANGUAGES! It'll be a case by case basis, but chances are we'll go easy on that sort of thing. DEPENDS.
Everyone will still be able to communicate with one another via text since that translates automatically [unless your character is a jerk and turns off that feature], but try to use this to your opportunity to keep some conversations private.
Also, this is probably a great time to clear something up!
HOW THE BABEL FISH WORKS:
Babel Fish are creatures in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy canon that, upon being placed in a host's ear, feed on their brainwaves. The side effect means that you can understand any language. Ever. If a cow moos at you, you understand what they're saying. If a sentient plant screams at you, you'll understand it.
This doesn't go for text in other languages, though.
The event will last until Monday, and the official START post should be up by tomorrow!
