[While you are in class chatting with your classmates or simply watching through your guide, Maka enters the class room pushing an overhead across the room to the front of the class. And on top of the overhead, there are stacks of hand held books. Once she puts it in position, she faces everyone.]
Hello, class!
Now that I have your attention, we can get started! I will be the teacher for this month. For those who don't know me, My name is Maka Albarn. You may call me Miss Albarn or Maka. It doesn't really matter to me. I'm pretty laid back with that. If I'm told correctly, your textbook should be in your desk along with your syllabus. Be sure to read that later on when you have time. And if you don't have a textbook, raise your hand and I'll write your name down and I'll make sure that you get it by tomorrow.
If you haven't done so already, feel free to go and look at the contents in your book to give you a general idea what we'll be going over this month. A bit of Shakespeare, Romantic Period, The Victorian Age, things like that. We will also go over The Writing Process and some test-taking strategies. I'm sure that would help a lot of you when test time rolls around.
-- Oh! And one more thing!
[She reaches over the overhead and grabs the hand held book.]
We will also be reading The Outsiders. It's about a poor high school boy that falls into a gang called,"The Greasers" and his struggles of survival through his daily life. It's a really good story. I've read it like three or four times... And if we can get through with it in time, we can watch the movie!
So --
[She sets the book back down.]
-- Any questions so far?
